Dr. Spector is Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Minnesota and Suzanne Holmes Hodder Chair in Pediatric Cancer Research. He is immediate past Chair for Epidemiology with the Children’s Oncology Group and currently chair of the Childhood Cancer and Leukemia International Consortium (CLIC; www.clic.ngo). He also heads the Childhood Cancer Genomics Group at his institution which investigates how variation in normal and tumor DNA influences cancer risk and outcome. The ultimate aim of his research is to enable risk prediction, early detection, and, someday, prevention of childhood cancer.
