Daniela V. Luquetti, MD, PhD, is a principal investigator in Seattle Children’s Research Institute’s Center for Developmental Biology and Regenerative Medicine and an assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She is a medical geneticist and epidemiologist, with specific training and experience in birth defects. Dr. Luquetti’s research focuses on the assessment of genetic sequence variation as well as other potential genetic causes of birth defects. She is currently the principal investigator of a multi-site U01 grant that is studying the genetic risk factors for microtia (underdevelopment of the external ear) and craniofacial microsomia (also known as oculo-auriculo-vertebral spectrum or hemifacial microsomia).
